Hello All,

I passed my PgMP in first attempt on 15 Nov 2018 which i must admit was a relief not knowing if i was adequately prepared.

I started my journey in May 2018 by joining Virtual classes By Mr. Kailash Upadhyay from Addon Skills. Training was very good with more emphasis on program management concepts and exam oriented. He was always available throughout the journey right from training till exam date.

Post training i started working on my application which itself took good 2 weeks. On May 21 i submitted my application and received notification from PMI on June 03 that my application was selected for audit and was asked to provide experience and education evidences. After 2 weeks from sending evidences my first level audit was cleared. next step was to pay $800. luckily cleared panel audit in first attempt.

Next milestone was to schedule exam date which i kept delaying due to work overload and during this phase Kailash kept motivating and pushing me to dedicate some time everyday and take exam at the earliest. Finally i kept a month for studying and took exam date on Oct 15.

i started reading SPM thoroughly once to understand the concepts as much as i could and also made notes highlighting key points. Then i went through the slides provided by Addon Skills which was very concise and upto point making my concepts more clear. thirdly it was Exam content outline which was also very helpful as there are some question which are directly mapped.

Next thing was to do question bank provided by Addon Skills and do gap analysis. These question bank were really helpful and there were some similar question in exam.  a week before i did full 4 hour mock and scored 50% which was really upsetting.

Finally a day before exam revisited question bank, Slides  and ECO.

On exam day i started an hour early for 15 minute drive to prometric exam center, exam started at 8 and was able to finish exam in 3 hours 15 minutes and pass in first attempt with target score. Right from beginning my target was to finish in 3 hours as i had an very important customer meeting at 12:30 pm.

My Take away:

1.) do not try or attempt to memorize anything, all questions are scenarios based and purely conceptual..

2.) Read ECO and understand the sequence

3.) refer PMBOK for EVM and important concepts like analysis technique ( pareto , ishikawa etc) .. i did it.

4.) There is lot of verbiage in exam questions, identifying key words will help

5.) time management in exam is very important , do not waste much time on a question.

i would like to take this opportunity to thank Kailash and Addon Skills for his continuous engagement and  motivation.
