Now, how I prepared for the certification exam and lessons learned.
- Read Standard for Program Management (SPM Version 4) three (3) times ends to end. Objectives was understanding the concept really well and I also tried to frame question on important concepts.
- Referred Examination content outline couple of time and focus was mapping the task with the SPM and program management concept.
- Exam questions were mostly scenario base so if your concepts are clear you can easily get to the right answer.
- Focus of chapter no. 7 and 8 is very important because these chapter focuses on Program Life Cycle and its supporting activities.
- Stakeholder Management questions are 100% situation question, so you need to apply best practices and your experience in answering these questions.
- Every question has keyword to find right answer, if you were relaxed then you can easily identify this keyword.
- I also recommend quick read of quality management topic, earned value topic, risk and procurement topic from PMBOK.
- Figure 4-1 on SPM, page # 46 is very important which will help answer many PgMP exam questions.
- I performed practice test provided by Addon Skills which are performance domain specific question to identify the GAP and area of improvements. The detail justification of questions really helps concreate the concept of each performance domain.
- I referred study material provided by Addon Skills which was great, pictorial representation of concept, flow charts and mind maps are quick reference guide before exam to refer.
- I performed MOCK test provided by #AddonSkills, very similar environment simulated by Mock test. This really gave me confidence to appear for exam.
- I used to utilize travelling time by Viewing video sessions provided using LMS by Addon Skills. The video sessions are excellent source of learning and refreshing key concepts.
Good luck to all aspiring professionals.
